This is a 1.25 inch soft enamel pin of Sebastian Vettel's special edition helmet from the 2013 German Grand Prix, using special glitter infused paint just like the real helmet.
Sebastian Vettel's 2013 championship was his last but also his most dominant. Winning 13 out of the 19 races that season and setting the record for most consecutive wins with 9. Vettel's speed was so dominant that in qualifying at the Singapore GP Sebastian set one lap at the start of Q3 then went into the pits and got out of the car. With plenty of time remaining the the session other tried to beat Vettel's single lap time however Sebastian's confidence was well placed as no driver beat his time.
Despite have 3 world championships and 29 race wins Vettel had never won at his home GP in Germany. However this would change in 2013. Starting second on the grid Sebastian had a brilliant launch overtaking Lewis Hamilton on pole. Things were looking good for Vettel however he was being challenged by the two Lotus's of Romain Grosjean and Kimi Raikkonen behind. Sebastian managed to hold off Raikkonen to take the win, with only a second separating them. Making this the first time Vettel had ever won his home Grand Prix.
After each of his wins in 2013 Vettel would "retire" the helmet he used, so we never saw this beautiful black and gold lid raced again. The race worn helmet would be auctioned off for charity at a price of £58000.
